Happy Summer 2026
Hello Friends and Art Lovers,
I hope your summer is off to a great start! It has suddenly become a whirlwind season for me, filled with new mural projects and two upcoming art exhibits for July and August. Here is a quick look at what’s coming up and where you can find me around Seattle this season.
Coliseum of Art
Opening June 26th, 2026
• Opening Reception: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Location: Historic Coliseum Theater | 500 Pike Street, Seattle, WA
The “Coliseum of Art” exhibit in downtown Seattle has opened for the summer, showcasing artists from around the region. I have two large paintings on display in the show, which runs through mid-August. These paintings are rarely shown due to their size, but the walls of this venue are perfect for this scale.
This enormous space used to be the historic 1916 Coliseum Theater and, later, Seattle’s flagship Banana Republic store. It has been repurposed as an exhibition space. When I dropped off my artwork, I asked to visit the remains of the theater upstairs, which had been on my Seattle history bucket list for decades.
If you visit this exhibit, take the opportunity to go on the tour if it is offered. You will not be disappointed.

If you take the tour at the Coliseum of Art, you will be led up a narrow, concrete spiral staircase and through a small door that opens into what was once the balcony section of the former theater. It is incredibly massive and feels a bit eerie! The balcony is large enough to be a theater on its own, and it is hard to imagine that this space has been sitting abandoned for decades. It is truly one of the most fantastic ruins in Seattle.

Past and Present
July 2nd – August 3rd, 2026
• Artist Reception: Thursday, July 9th, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Location: Vermillion Gallery | 1508 11th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122
My solo show, Past and Present at Vermillion Gallery, displays a cross-section of my painting career, including my latest pieces—a survey of sorts. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the full range of my work and my different approaches to painting.

Fremont Summer Murals
On Display All Summer
• Location: 3400 Fremont Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103
This summer, Seattle is hosting FIFA events, and the city has been packed with tourists. To celebrate the moment, seven artists—including myself—were contracted by the Fremont Creative District to paint murals in Fremont. The project also coincided with the annual neighborhood Solstice festivities, giving us all just two days to get them done! The murals will be up all summer, so make sure to check them out.

My online shop continually expands with art from my archives and, of course, new work at shop.mihalyo.com
Thank you so much for your time, and thank you all for your support over the years.
Stay safe out there.
Jeff
