These sketchbook drawings are the foundation of my larger and/or more refined paintings. Not all sketchbook drawings become paintings but they are the playground where final paintings take shape. I keep a daily sketchbook practice and have hundreds of thousands of drawings. Most are unseen by the public. These selected images present a sample of ideas and techniques that are later refined as transfer drawings for final paintings.
